Alee Spadoni is an actor, writer, improviser and clown. Originally from the Philadelphia area, she graduated from The University of the Arts BFA Theatre Program, spent early days in NYC and then planted her roots in Chicago.
Alee plays Adina Hurwitz in the feature film, The Falls: Covenant of Grace on Amazon Here TV. Emmy nominated director Jon Garcia wrote the role specifically for her in his hit indie trilogy. You may have spotted her in national commercials. She’s voiced roles for The Onion, Nickelodeon and Wendy’s.
In summer 2022 Alee performed her play George & Ora By The River, produced by The Annoyance Theatre as part of their Triple Feature Series. She writes and performs original characters and sketches around Chicago.
Growing up in Philly, Alee started acting professionally. For her first job, Broadway director Ted Sperling cast her in the US Premiere of Peter Pan and Wendy by the creators of Honk! . At UARTS she was a Laurie Beechman Award competition finalist for outstanding talent. After graduation, she lived in NYC where she completed a two year apprenticeship at The Actor’s Movement Studio and assistant produced new work for ArtParty Theatre.
In Chicago, Alee honed her chops at theatres like Dog and Pony, Theater Wit, Adventure Stage, Oak Park Festival, Strawdog and Shattered Globe. She was a cast member in the Midwest Premiere of Completeness by Itamar Moses at Theatre Wit. She was honored on the DC Metro Theatre Arts 2016 Best Performances List.
Alee has continued her training with: Maria Dizzia, Scott Freeman, Kathryn Gately, Rick Poole, Dexter Bullard, Paola Coletto, Suzanne Shepherd and Robert X. Modica among other noted teachers. She’s trained in improv at iO and The PIT.
In her spare time you can find Alee riding around town on her bike, thrifting funky vintage finds, taking care of her many house plants and probably listening to music. She has a lifelong passion for food and cooking. She finds joy making homemade meals for friends and family.
Alee loves collaborating with weird and wonderful people. She’s inspired by feminist, LGBTQ+ and diverse ensemble stories. She’s a history nerd always curious about how people lived in different times. Her goal is to play people in their colorful, complex humanity from grounded women of worth to singular bonkers comedic characters. She loves making audiences laugh, commune and celebrate life.
